Michael is a rock star and I used his tutorial when I initially made my first droplet many years ago, but it's way out of date. There is a simpler way of doing this now:

After you make your Digital Ocean account:

  1. Go to the lower left and click on Marketplace
    image
  2. Search for Perforce

  3. Create a Droplet from the Marketplace image

  4. Follow the instructions on the above page.
