BOLD: LAWLESS LIZARD ACTION dev thread

wassup gamers. i've been posting enough in the impromptu discord that i probably want a convenient place to dump my work so far on my spouse and i's pet project to introduce it to the fine folks in the impromptu community, and to post updates

BOLD: LAWLESS LIZARD ACTION is, as ill advised as this is, my first real stand alone video game. self made in my free time (i work in retail) using years of experience derived from skyrim/fallout modding and community college classes on 3d modelling, animation, and unreal engine level design. it's a singleplayer, mission based stealth game inspired by thief and splinter cell, with fable 1 vibes. set on a dying world being fought over by anthropomorphic animals, where you play as a little kobold thief named dandy (name + gender player determinant)

(pictured; irril(she/her), dandy(they/them), and lukas(he/him), dandy is the player kobold while irril and lukas are npcs who frequently show up during the in-between missions hub zone. irril is your security expert and makes your gear + preps your getaway rides, lukas is a man on the inside who can pull favors. think of them like if you gender swapped jock & nicolette duclare from deus ex and gave them fursonas)

PROOF OF WORK

i've been plugging away at this project since june of 2021, waaaay back on ue 4.26. now i'm on 5.4!

really proud of how far i've come, even if it's a mess of blueprint spaghetti with a lil bespoke c++ and a lot of c++ addons (most importantly being loonyware's ShadowStealth(worryingly pulled from sale, might need to re-examine how dependent i am on it), and every single one of sinbad's libs)

i also have a character customization system i made before mutable and will likely want to refactor for mutable, where you can choose your kobold's name + pronouns and customize the colors on their body + outfit + toggle horns and ears

i've released a mission from the first half of my planned story for Steve Lee's recent level design jam 9, and i am incredibly proud of my work shipping even a single graybox of this heavily wip'd project i've been cooking for the last few years

:bowing_woman:t2: thank you for reading

This looks dope! That quest sound hits me right in the good nostalgia  Always up for anything taking inspiration from Thief

thank you!! obviously all ripped sounds are subject to change (the guards will not use thief lines in the final game) but I definitely want to evoke that feeling in every part of the game
